IFA plantation productivity symposium: proving R&D pays

Mon, 12 May - Wed, 14 May 2014

While there is limited interest in and time to develop new plantations we can maximise returns from existing plantings. The symposium will provide forestry professionals with practical information about how to leverage their tree assets by implementing proven and emerging research findings on-ground, and measuring productivity gains and return on investment.

Dr Jack Lutz will be attending the symposium as a keynote speaker. Jack is Principal and Forest Economist of the US based Forest Research Group and has over 25 years of experience in timberland investments in academic, industry, research and consulting positions.

We are also expecting Jefferson Mendes to participate. Jefferson is CEO of Poyry Silviconsult based in Brazil.

For the remainder of the program we bring together the best of our Australian researchers, advisers and managers to provide practical information about how to get the most returns of our existing plantation stock .

The program provides for two-days of presentations and a field tour to see the research put into practice. More program details will be posted soon.
