Forestry is one of Australia's largest and most diverse land management, resource, and manufacturing sectors. Professional foresters work around Australia and around the world, managing native and planted forests for conservation, environmental services, and sustainable production. Foresters work in government and business, with NGOs and communities, and with farmers and other natural resource managers.
Foresters are in demand, nationally and globally. Commencing in 2008, the National Forestry Masters links professional Masters degree programs at five institutions, offering access to the best teaching in forestry in Australia and internationally, plus opportunities for internships, research projects and extensive fieldwork. Developed and delivered in conjunction with forest sector partners across Australia, the program is designed to match student learning with real needs and opportunities in Australia and the region.
