Science Session: Climate Change

Science Session: Climate Change and its impact on Forests and Forest Management

Date: Tuesday 25 May
Time: 11.30 am – 1.00pm

In this inaugural IFA/AFG Science Session we take a deep dive into the science of climate change effects on forests and what land managers should consider to mitigate risk and build resilience. As the climate changes, the pressures and interactions across forested landscapes are also changing. Anticipating this change and using the tools available to us in the immediate term will require us to understand how forests are likely to respond to climate change over the next century and beyond.

Join forest and climate change experts Professor Belinda Medlyn, Dr Libby Pinkard, Professor Patrick Baker for a summary of current knowledge about climate change and its consequences for forest management, followed by an interactive discussion with the audience, moderated by Professor Rod Keenan.
