Dr Jonathan Dash

Biography:

Jonathan is a professional forester and scientist with 15 years’ experience in both the commercial and research sectors having developed forest mensuration, remote sensing, and yield prediction systems for clients in New Zealand, Australia, South America, Africa and Europe. He holds a BSc (Hons), an MSc with distinction in forest growth and yield modelling and a PhD in forestry (University of Canterbury, NZ). Jonathan has significant expertise in statistical modelling, forest mensuration, and has expert knowledge of airborne and satellite remote sensing.

Jonathan has published 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles on topics including remote sensing of forests, forest inventory systems, and silvicultural research.

In recent years Jonathan has worked extensively to develop methods for quantifying the impacts of expected future climates on plantation performance. This has included the development of forest fire models and scenario analysis for several major plantation forest growers.
