Location: Northbridge Golf Club, 296c Sailor’s Bay Road, Northbridge NSW 2063
The Forestry Australia’s NSW Branch would like to invite you to the upcoming presentations and dinner – A New Direction for Forestry in NSW.
After more than 10 years of complacency about timber supply in Australia, with the area of plantations decreasing, an exciting new direction has emerged to stimulate development of additional plantations to meet the growing demand for timber in Australia and the recognition that plantations and the timber produced are carbon emissions positive. Our recently elected Australian Government has committed $300 million and support programs to progress the new direction.
Participants will hear about the background to this new direction, the programs, intended outcomes and why the new Government plans to make a large commitment to forestry. Participants will also hear about current investments and how the programs are being managed at regional level through the recently created Forestry Hubs. Speakers are;
Victor Violante – Chief Executive Officer, Australian Forest Products Association NSW.
Craig Taylor – Fifth Estate and Manager, Central West NSW Forestry Hub.
Nick Cameron – Manager, North East NSW Forestry Hub.
