Fire Towers, Tall Trees and Forestry Australia’s 90 Years
The Forestry Australia Queensland Branch invites members and friends to join us for our final field trip of 2025.
Date: Saturday 29 November 2025 | Time: 9:30am – 2:00pm
Meeting Point: Salmon Lookout, 463 Wolvi Mountain Rd, Wolvi QLD 4570
About:
This year, we’ll head to the Noosa Hinterland for a memorable day celebrating forestry, fire management, and tall trees — as well as marking Forestry Australia’s 90th anniversary.
Our first stop will be the historic Mt Wolvi timber fire tower, where we’ll enjoy sweeping views across the coast and learn how a connected network of towers and cameras plays a critical role in preventing and managing wildfires.
From there, we’ll take a guided wander through the Doggrell Forest Trail at Como, home to some of Queensland’s most spectacular tall trees and an important reminder of our forest heritage.
To round out the day, we’ll relax together in the picturesque town of Cooran, sharing lunch and a refreshing drink to celebrate the end of the year. We look forward to finishing 2025 in style with our Queensland members, friends, and families.
