Presenter: Melanie Cook, CEO, HVP Plantations Pty Ltd | Duration: 45 minutes

We are pleased to welcome Melanie Cook, who will present on actions to maintain social licence, mitigate fire risk and protect international investment in Australian forestry.

Melanie joined the timber industry in 2024, taking up the role of CEO at HVP Plantations following senior leadership roles in the energy sector.

HVP manages an estate of 242,000 hectares across Victoria, including approximately 174,000 hectares of pine and eucalypt plantations. The company’s plantations extend from Gippsland in the east, to the South Australian border in the west, and through to the northeast of the state.

Melanie holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Melbourne.
