John Lawson
Biography:
John is Midway’s Carbon Projects Manager, a climate change economist, and an expert in Australia’s land-based carbon offsets and liability markets.
He has over a decades experience in environmental and carbon markets policy from within government, having led development of key elements of several important emissions reduction market mechanisms, including the:
- Carbon Pricing Mechanism;
- Carbon Farming Initiative;
- Emissions Reduction Fund; and
- Victorian Energy Efficiency Target.
He has contributed to or authored several recent industry led policy responses to government for the forest and forest products industries on issues related to plantation forestry, FullCAM, ASX listed ACCU futures, and the proposed carbon offsets exchange.
