Simon Penfold

Biography:

Simon is a career plantation executive, having worked in government and large industrial organisations at senior level for almost four decades. Simon is an experienced forester and business manager who has established African Mahogany plantations in the Northern Territory and Brazil. He has been active on the carbon market developments associated with plantations in Eastern Australia.

Simon’s roles have included executive positions at Hancocks Victorian Plantations, Australian New Energy, African Mahogany Australia and several other organisations, including Pentarch Forest Products and Global Plantation Resources.

Simon played a central role in the development of the Western Australian Blue Gum sector and the Victorian Plantations Corporation. He has also been involved in the purchase by Hancocks of Australian Paper Plantations in 2000 and several recent capital raising activities in Australia and Brazil for international scale greenfields timber plantations.
