As Part of the International Day of Forest celebrations, Forestry Australia is delighted to invite you to our upcoming webinar.
Forests generate at least $450 billion in economic value each year. This webinar will explore the many ways forests contribute to the economy—both within the traditional forest sector and beyond. We’ll highlight the importance of recognising the full value of forests and discuss how responsible, inclusive innovation can unlock forest-related investment opportunities, helping to ensure healthy and resilient forests for future generations.

About the Presenter
Jack Hurd | Head, Earth Systems Agenda & Executive Director, Tropical Forest Alliance; World Economic Forum
Jack Hurd serves as the Head of the World Economic Forum’s Earth System Agenda and the Executive Director of the Tropical Forest Alliance. Jack brings to the Forum 30 years of experience in climate change, natural resources management, and community economic development. He has lived and worked extensively in the tropics, with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region, and has held senior leadership positions with Conservation International (CI), The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Jack holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Jack is based in Geneva.

About the Webinar Chair
Dr Lyndall Bull | Forestry Australia Vice President
Dr Lyndall Bull is a forester with expertise in innovation and the bioeconomy. Lyndall has worked in a senior capacity in the government, private education and intergovernmental sectors. Lyndall is Principal of Lynea Advisory, a specialist consulting business serving the global forest sector. She is also the Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Forest-Economy and Co-Lead for the IUFRO Task Force on Scaling-Up Science-based Forest-Sector Innovation. Until recently she was the Forestry Innovation Coordinator at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. She has a PhD in innovation in the forest sector from the University of Melbourne.
