About the Symposium

Forestry Australia invites you to join us in Hobart for the 2027 Symposium – Innovation, Technology and Production.

Bringing together forest scientists, managers, growers, farmers, researchers, industry leaders and forestry professionals from across Australia, the Symposium will explore how science, technology and innovation are shaping the future of production forestry.

Under the theme Innovation, Technology and Production, the Symposium will examine how advances in science, technology and forest management can transform the way we grow and produce forest fibre, improve productivity, support smarter forestry practices and strengthen the sustainability and resilience of Australia’s forests.

A key focus will be connecting the forests and forest products we grow today with the changing needs, emerging technologies and supply chains of the future.

Through a curated program of invited speakers, expert discussions, practical case studies and field trips, delegates will explore emerging opportunities, share knowledge and consider how innovation can support a productive, sustainable and resilient forestry sector.

The Symposium will also provide valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues, build professional networks and engage in discussions about the future of forestry.

Join us in Hobart from 8–11 November 2027

Further information about registration, speakers and the program will be announced soon.
