Exploring Innovation and Production Forestry in Practice

The Forestry Australia 2027 Symposium will conclude with a series of field trips on Thursday 11 November, providing delegates with an opportunity to explore forestry innovation, technology and management practices firsthand.

Building on the Symposium theme, Innovation, Technology and Production, the field trips will showcase examples of forest management, research, technology and industry practices across Tasmania.

Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with forestry professionals, researchers and organisations, see innovative approaches in action and explore how science and technology are being applied to improve productivity, sustainability and forest resilience.

Field trips are an important part of Forestry Australia’s Symposiums, providing valuable opportunities for practical learning, knowledge sharing and professional networking.

Field Trip Program

Our Organising Committee is currently developing a range of field trip options to appeal to delegates with different professional interests.

Further information, including destinations, itineraries, departure and return times, costs and booking arrangements, will be announced in the coming months.

We encourage delegates to plan to stay in Hobart until the evening of Thursday 11 November to take advantage of these opportunities.
