Foresters concerns confirmed – UTas researchers and academics to undergo integrity training The Institute of Foresters of Australia and Australian Forest Growers thanks the University of Tasmania for its thorough investigation of our concerns that a recent academic paper on bushfires contained serious errors.

The University’s response makes it clear that our concerns were well founded. In particular, the University found that as a consequence, researchers and academics will need to undergo research integrity training.

The President of the Institute of Foresters of Australia and Australian Forest Growers, Bob Gordon, said: “These findings confirm our concerns and we thank the University for acknowledging that there were serious issues with this research that needed to be addressed. We particularly welcome the fact that the University will now mandate a training program on research integrity for academics at the school as a result of our complaint.”
